Hi, I’m Morgan!

I am a U.S. Air Force Veteran and former Airline Captain Morgan Watt, and this is my service dog, Donzi.

Meet Morgan

Studying human services with an emphasis on mental health and counseling at Springfield College following my 17-year career as an airline pilot, brought it all into practical focus for me.

I handled detection dogs at U.S. Air Force bases around the world during the Gulf War era. My work ethic earned me invitations to Secret Service details for the President of the United States and other highly sensitive assignments with bomb dogs.

As an airline transport pilot with multiple type ratings, I became an FAA check airman and later developed a curriculum to train pilots for that responsibility.

I am an accomplished athlete, having competed in criterium and cycling races.

When I speak, I weave my interdisciplinary experiences together with my compassionate understanding of trauma and anxiety. I aim to end the silent epidemic of suicide among veterans and active duty service men and women.

Meet Donzi

Donzi already knows me better than I know myself!

The hours of training, love, and care that Donzi's puppy raisers and instructors gave him shine through in his perfect blend of puppy curiosity and strong work ethic. Donzi improves my quality of life, bringing immeasurable comfort to our family.

Thank you to the Southeastern Guide Dogs Inc. family for making this possible.

Meet Foley

Foley came into my life from Southeastern Guide Dogs in January of 2015. My wife, Amber, would go to work, and my kids would go off to school, and I was left alone, trying to navigate a chronic migraine, and symptoms of PTSD and depression. I needed help and the help arrived in the form of a beautiful lab/golden mix of a dog.

It was a throwback from my Air Force Days, working Military Working Dogs finding explosives. I always knew they were there to save my life. Foley filled the gap between the medication and talk therapy that I was going through. I called him my 3am therapist. He never hesitated to wake up, cuddle up and just be there to listen to my stories of trauma that I had never told anyone. He literally has saved my life, not once, but many times in my battles against my invisible wounds.
